Good Golly - A Giveaway!

Hello there!
Look what I have here... A basket FULL of Whimsy Farm Twine! And in bright, fun and NEW colours!

Would you like to meet the girls? Yes?

Alrighty, first up we have... Dolly!

Dolly is a vibrant blue twine - no white here, just full on colour! I once had a cow named Dolly, and she was the sweetest girl I'd ever met. Always the first in the dairy too, for a scratch and some extra feed snuck here and there.

Next we have Holly...

I think I'm in love. This green twine is just delightful to look at! Holly the cow was a bit of a kicker in the dairy, but otherwise lovely... This colour has a bit of kick to it, so I thought it was appropriate! Also, Holly being green and Christmas-y... I thought it was a good fit.

Who's next? Let's see...

Molly! So pretty! This is so girly, I think she might be popular with Mummies of little girls. Molly the cow was a sweet little thing with the longest eyelashes, she was very pretty - just like this twine.

And lastly we have - can you guess?
We've had Dolly, Holly and Molly...

Polly! Pretty Purple Polly.
Polly got to be an old cow, and she kept the young ones in line. She loved me, though!

So there you go - Whimsy Farm Twine's new colours! Exciting!

To celebrate the new colours
(and my 1000 likers on Facebook - thank you so much!)
I'm giving away the four new colours to ONE lucky winner!

All you have to do is comment below with a happy
Christmas-related memory - to get us all in the Christmas spirit! The winner will be drawn randomly using random.org on Saturday the 24th of November at 7pm EST.

Also - and you don't have to do this to enter the giveaway - if you could share the Whimsy Farm Twine Facebook Page with your crafty friends, it'd be 'udderly' appreciated! And to those who have done so already, thank you so, so much. I'm just an ordinary little lady, juggling twine - so much twine! - with being a Mummy to three children (3, 2 and 1), and the lovely comments I get blow me away. Thank you all.

Good luck!
Angie

  3. My bestest bestest memory of Christmas is when I used to live in Holland and it would snow on Christmas Day (not always the case), and dad would put the open fire on and the family would sit around it opening christmas presents while the turkey is cooking in the oven, wearing our sunday best and just being happy ... Even our cat would join in and sleep on the discarded wrapping paper. Priceless!

  7. Love these new colours!!!!

I think the best memory from each and every Christmas, from when I was a little girl, to now having my own kids, and being excited for them (and myself!!) is the feeling you get when going to bed Christmas Eve and being so excited for the next morning and day ahead... Brooke Smith

  8. I have lots but the funniest one was about 28 yrs ago my mum and my grandma kept on sneaking in the alcohol into the Christmas pudding over a few weeks without the other knowing ... Ohhh the Christmas cake was a huge hit that year!!!!!!! No kids were allowed to eat it

  9. Love the new colours. My best/funniest memory of Christmas is when I was a teenager (I am in my 30's) and my youngest sister was taught a lesson about snooping in shopping leading up to Christmas. She asked what had Gran bought and was told none of her business and stop snooping thru the bags. Gran told her she had bought toothpaste. Due to her snooping an empty tube of toothpaste was wrapped in a small box then a large box and placed under the tree with her name on it........ Lets just say she wasn't happy when she had opened it but we all loved it.... Has she learnt her lesson ???? NO she is still shocking to this day in her 30's

  12. This will be my first Christmas in about 8 years that I can spend with my family and my partner and 2 boys for lunch instead of rushing of to be with his family for the rest of the day (whom I love), I just can't wait and for a change I am so looking forward to Christmas this year and watching my eldest son open his presents. x

  13. Mine is not a memory. After 10 years of living 1500kilometers away my daughter has moved back to Victoria with her 3 gorgeous kids ( her husband was killed in a car accident last year) so it is going to be the best Christmas ever with all the family together for the first time in 10 years

  14. There is nothing quite like Christmas with kids around...last year was my most favourite Christmas by far with both babies a little more 'knowing' and very excited about HoHo coming.
Before Miss 4 started pulling pressies from her own stocking, she rummaged around to ensure her brother, Master 2 had something to open first...talk about an amazing act of 'giving'...

  16. Being older, I now know that some Christmas' were finacially hard for both my mum and dad (separated) but i never once knew that as a kid...they made each and every christmas special in some way and we never felt like we missed out, even if they didn't have the money to buy the latest coolest thing that every other second kid was getting...I suppose thats why I enJOY the family gathering, sharing a special meal and memories part the most about Christmas...the real JOY of Christmas is not the presents (although I do LOVE seeing my little girls face light up when she opens hers!!) but being surrounded by the people you care most about.

    ps....LOVE the new colours!! xx

  18. I love the new colours....
My favourite christmas memory is the same every year since I had my first born, is the look on their faces when the kids realise Santa has been and he has left pressies under the tree. They also love going around the street looking at the houses with the lights.

  19. Gorgeous Girls the whole herd!!
When we were kids it was kind of tradition that on Christmas Eve my brother, sister and I would all sleep in the same room on a big mattress on the floor in our sleeping bags. One year we heard bells and looked out the window just in time to catch the top of an elf's hat running past, bells jingling! Still to this day I'm not sure who was wearing that hat... but I've never forgotten! I now I tell my kids the story!
Thanks Angie hope your Christmas is Merry and Bright :) Jo xx
Ps love your twine... I have Jemima & Delilah, I use them to wrap customers packages for post!

  20. Love your new twine colours! Was going to put an order in earlier this week...glad I waited :)
My fave Christmas memory is when we left a carrot out for Rudolf and milk and biscuits for Santa. The look on my two very young girls faces when they saw some little left over 'bits' of carrot on the front porch. Also an empty glass of milk and biscuit crumbs.

  21. I love christmas, i make sure everyone is awake early to see if santa has been.
I also love the lead up to christmas, our whole street decorate their yards to some degree with lights, we trim the tree- getting out all the homemade decorations and discuss when they were made (oldest child is 19yr old), Who needs store brought decorations ours mean so much more.
Imagine what we could do with some of your wonderful twine, we could make more christmas memories.

  22. Chrismtas is all about family for me. My sister and I used to watch watch a chrismtas movie together every christmas eve & stay up late. Now that we are older & live countries apart, we both still agree of a christmas movie we will watch on christmas eve & make sure we Skype each other to talk just the two of us. With a bub on the way, this is a tradition I hope to pass on to them to connect with their Auntie at this fabulous time of year!

  23. I never liked Christmas much as a child we'd have to go to church before we could open our presents. But now I love the excitement of my 3 children leading up to christmas.last christmas was one to remember we have this rule no opening presents till eveyones out of bed so our youngest miss 4 opened someone elses present early and didn't like it and put it in the bin and acted as if nothing had happened.

  26. I was going to share a childhood memory. But in all honesty, the memory that is likely to be told and re told every single year is that of my daughter's birth. I went into labour around 7pm on Christmas eve as I was putting my other children to bed. I soldierd on and didn't tell my mum or hubby right away! I was kind of hoping it wasn't the real deal! I finally went out to help hubby assemble a massive trampoline - yes, while in labour! - and told him! She was born at 2.41am on Christmas morning....Best. Present. Ever. Hubby managed to sneak home before the boys woke up I was home with our new baby by lunchtime. We had a super relaxed, blissful christmas day!!

  27. Wow such gorgeous colours!! Not so much a Christmas memory, more of a Christmas tradition.....I love sitting around with the family to watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation every year! I love Christmas movies!! :)

  28. Though my favourite christmas memories are tinged with sadness, Christmas in our family was always special because my Mum (RIP) was a christmas decoration and shop display designer. We had Christmas all year round but when it got to the day, Mum made it all that much special. We had the gorgeous burnt orange colour pine needle styled 6ft tree she made in the factory just for us. It's still at my Dad's place along with the white one and green one she made. Plus she was the first to import into Australia a fibre optic lamp in the 70's. I now have that lap and Dad has a fibre optic Christmas tree, ah such lovely memories of my Mum.

  30. I love your twine. My memory is my daughter coming out on Christmas morning with her santa sack. I asked her if she heard santa come, and she said "Yes Mummy, I heard his footprints on the roof!!!" It was very funny.

  33. Hello! I just found you through googling Australian made twine, and wow, so glad I did. I need to put an order in, just as soon as I can decide on colours!

A happy Christmas memory for me is always seeing the decorations my brother and I made as kids on my parents' tree. It makes me smile each and every year.

  34. Loving the new colours Angie.

A great Christmas memory/tradition was as a kid we would put Christmas carols on and all take turns adding a decoration to the tree. In between we'd have chocolate and pop corn. By the time we'd finished it would be dark enough to see the lights. I can't wait to start this tradition with our own family.

  36. Looking at the excitement on our kids faces when they open their presents.

  37. My memory is the year I discovered my patents gave us the presents not Santa. We pretended to be asleep, my parents came in and checked we were 'sleeping', we then watched them do several trips down the hallway with handfuls of presents. Once they went to sleep we went and looked at the tree and found we had new bikes, so what to do at night with new bikes, we had a test ride through the loungeroom.

  38. I remember one Christmas at my boyfriends (now hubby) parents house, he was standing at the bottom of the stairs Christmas morning, calling "come on, (kissy noise) come on, and then produced a very large fluffy toy cat (I LOVE cats). I called it Christmas Cat and to this day (married 19 years) it still sits on my blanket box and is a most treasured gift :) (Carolyn Bagini from Carolina's - carolynbagini@hotmail.com)

  39. My favourite Christmas memory is a pretty new one. Getting to stay up late, trying to settle over excited kids and get the last minute stuff done, making sure the stuff is left out for Santa, and then madly trying to hide it when the kids come out because (naturally...) they are THIIIIIRSTY! lol
I love the chaos of Christmas eve!

  40. Mine is actually a collection of memories from when I was many moons younger. I remember going to sleep with such a sense of anticipation and then waking as early as I could and finding the lounge was full of gifts ... Clearly small lounge room and my memory has expanded it all. But we went to sleep with an empty tree and awoke with no room to move. Bestest feeling ever!

  44. My best christmas memory is getting all the family together to spend christmas day and boxing day together. And when we give out the presents from under the tree someone would dress up as our family santa which always made the day so much more special. The younger kids would love having family santa come and hand out the presents.

  45. My most favourite Christmas memory is from last year 2011 when my brother and his wife and little girl came home from the US for Christmas. I had not seen him since their wedding in Baltimore USA 4 years before and had not met their little 2yo girl. It was wonderful to have him back in Australia after 6 years of being gone.
They have gone home back to the USA now but I will treasure last year for a very long time.

  48. Each chirstmas our dad planned out a treasure hunt around the house and yard with a mix of gifts and clues along the way. As we got older it got more complex and in our early teens we were stumpped on a clue for a couple of hours whilst everyone else continued to eat drink and be merry. I enjoiyed the hunt more than the gifts as I knew he took such care in preparing it for us.
